The Storyteller's role is to act as the driving force behind the events of the game. There's no pressure in being The Storyteller, as everything you need is written on cards for you to read directly to the other players. You also facilitate the combat scenarios, and control the enemies.
Combat is a big part of Storyteller, and running it is straightforward once you know the rules. You play the role of the enemies, and facilitate their actions without any unnecessary decision making. The actions they take on their turn are almost entirely dependant on a strict ruleset, so you just get to roll the dice without worrying what you're going to make them do!
Sometimes the players can get stuck, as The Storyteller it's your job to remove the obstacles and get them playing again. You'll be the final word when it comes to rules disputes, or if players are trying to do something outside the scope of the rules.
There are three Chapters to an adventure, The Beginning, The Middle and The End. Between these chapters, your Adventurers will partake in Combat or Exploration encounters. You facilitate these by drawing a card from the relevant deck, and read them aloud for the group. There is often a choice for the group to make in order to proceed, so they can involve themselves in the Storytelling too!
